Surprisingly, Lionel Messi happens to be a human being.
Messi and his team, Inter Miami, had a victorious match against LAFC in an MLS game last Sunday, winning 3-1 while playing away. Even though they played well, Messi couldn’t manage to score a goal.
The game took a turn in the 38th minute as Miami was in the lead with 1-0, thanks to Fagundo Farias’ goal in the 14th minute. In that moment, Messi skillfully dodged several defenders from LAFC and executed a swift one-two to progress towards the goal, which should have resulted in a 2-0 score.
John McCarthy, the goalkeeper for LAFC, was faced with a tough challenge but made an impressive save instead. The miss didn’t have much of an impact on the game as Selena Gomez, an actor and musician, as well as Tyga, a hip-hop star, were taken aback by it. During the 51st and 83rd minutes of the game, Messi supported his ex-teammate Jordi Alba from Barcelona, helping him to score two more goals and increasing their lead to 2-0 and 3-0 respectively.
During the dying moments of the game, LAFC managed to score a goal, which was only a consolation prize. This occurred when defender Ryan Hollingshead headed the ball into the back of the net. LAFC had an impressive 22 shots during the match compared to Miami’s nine. Both teams had six shots on target.
